Clemente Guzman’s upbringing in a Texas migrant family took him to Minnesota, where his love for nature and wildlife blossomed. Since then, his passion for the outdoors and love for detail have come to life in his paintings.
Guzman’s art has earned him many honors, including the Izaak Walton League of America Award as well as an ADDY award from the American Advertising Federation and awards from the Association for Conservation Information.
Guzman works for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, where he has produced paintings of Texas wildlife for 24 Texas hunting stamps and many other publications and art renditions. But “Monarch of the Hill Country” was his first bobcat.
“What inspired me about the painting was that it is my first painting of a bobcat. I did a lot of research before I started painting it,” Guzman says. “I hope everyone enjoys looking at ‘Monarch of the Hill Country’ as much I enjoyed painting it.” Return to “Monarch of the Hill Country”
